We first visited Norway in 2002 on our way back from Australia where we were studying in Singapore and immediately fell in love with the city/country. We try to visit Singapore whenever we are in Asia, which means almost every year, and different hotels in the city have different price ranges.

The only major city we experienced was landing at the airport and being told that the hotels in the city were fully booked and there were no rooms anywhere! Huge modern malls line both sides of the wide parkway, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for here, you won’t find it anywhere else in the world. You’re just an elevator ride away from Orchard Gateway, Orchard Central and all the restaurants and shops that 313 Somerset has to offer.

Behind the hotel is Killini Road full of cozy and cheap restaurants from Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese and Malaysian.

The rooms are large, comfortable, modern, very quiet, in the morning we did not hear anything from the neighbors or the cleaning staff. Fast and free internet. The hotel has a robot (!), a friendly Geno that delivers food for room service, and more. 🙂

Lloyd’s Inn We really enjoyed Lloyd’s, it was excellent value for money (including breakfast at the famous Killiney Kopitiam cafe or nearby bakery). Lloyds is an excellent, clean, minimalist boutique hotel with a real Zen feel. All 34 rooms have some element of nature and our room had an outdoor shower which we loved! Some rooms have large windows and even a terrace overlooking the green garden.

Some rooms even have outdoor bathtubs! Great! It is worth paying an extra SDG 20= USD 15 for a room with a garden view.
